Working on new models

Well, started working on a Falcon grav tank and another Tervigon for my secondary armies (Eldar & Nids). Also have to repair some Eldar figs as heads have "rolled" since my last time playing them.

I won the "who goes 1st" roll, but elected to let him go first, as I wanted something to shoot at when my turn came. He put my "traitor" with his plaguebearers and they weren't in the first wave. I put his with my Meganobs/Warboss in the BW.

After setting up his first wave came on the table.

Neither of us did much on the first turn, and he got little on the board on turn 2 so he moved forward with everything.

My turn 2 involved my Kans shooing their megablastas at his soul grinder stunning it, of course he got to ignore it. I moved my nob bikers towards his horrors assaulting them. I drove my BW forward and tank shocked his bloodcrushers, which hit them only once and they made their invul save.

Turn 3, saw his horrors die to my biker nobs, he charged his grinder into my kans and he proceeded to destroy 1 and stun another, oh most of his other demons came in this turn, including the plaguebearers with my traitor, who he put back toward his table edge.

My turn 3 saw his grinder finish off my kans, my meganobs and boss jumped out and attacked his bloodcrushers, I moved my trukk out to block his bloodthirster, my large squad of boyz attacked and wiped out one of his heralds; my bikernobs shot his bloodletters hitting 12 times and killing...1. I was just short of assaulting them.

Turn 4, brought the last unit of demons, his 6 fiends of Slaanesh, which he landed near my Lootas. His bloodthirster assaulted my trukk boyz, and wiped them off the board. His bloodletters assaulted my bikernobs/warboss with all those power attacks.... It wasn't pretty.

My turn 4: had Zagstruk and the Vulcha boyz came in and I put them in assault range of his plaguebearers and most importantly, my traitor. With time winding down, it would come down to this assault. My boss and meganobs finished off the bloodcrushers, and da Vulcha boyz and Zag did assault the traitor killing him and scoring me5 KPs.

We tallied our KPs and thanks to Zag, I managed a Major victory and first place!

Well, it's just 3 days away... I can't wait to see how I do. I was undefeated last year, but, still placed 4th because of the scoring. I'm going all out this year, playing hard and .... ah who am I kidding, I'm still gonna play fair and have fun. Will take pics and hopefully have some great bat reps!

Well this weekend is Ard Boyz, and I'm ready. Hope for a great and fun time and get to play against some great opponents!

Ard Boyz Missions

Well, the missions for Ard Boyz are out, and once again I was right. Mobility will be king! SM with rhinos, Dark Eldar, and maybe Orks with Battle Wagons should rule the tables.

Grey Knights.... I haven't played against them yet or even seen them played, so we'll have to see how well they do

Change in plans

Well, a change in plans for the ard boyz. After some practice games against a Tau army and 2 Dark Eldar armies, I'm putting my Nid list in limbo and breaking out the boyz again. The bugs were just to slow, even running. With the boyz, I can put them in trukks and BWs to move with speed. Speed, that's the thing that's needed in most tournies, or actually, mobility. And my bugz didn't have it with what I could put on the table. But, the boyz can be and are very mobile

Didn't Work

Well, this past Tuesday, I tried my Ard Boyz nid list, twice. Once, against Tom's Tau list, and once against Darin's Dark Eldar. I lost both games, badly.

So, it was back to the drawing board and some advice from Tom. I going to add another zowie and some more hormagaunts, by dropping a fex and the very useless lictor.

Well, June is coming to an end, and I have slacked off on both blogging and working on the bugs. Haven't finished putting the hormagaunts together, or the carrying cases for my bug army. I know I've got some games scheduled on the 5th of July, probably against dark eldar and maybe tau or space wolves or orks, whatever Tom will bring. I have the rules for Nids down, just need to practice with them.

Well, I'm putting 2 more boxes of termagaunts together, giving me a total of 42, hopefuly that will be enough for my "pooper" to use during a game, without running out. Made a Tervigon out of one of the giant spider from the fantasy orc/goblin line. Added a pair of crusing claws and a carnifex head, I think it looks OK.

Bugs are coming along...

Well, my Nids are progressing nicely, as I have finished the warriors and am now working on my hormagaunts. I also have to build two more boxes of termes and I will be ready to try out my Ard Boyz Bug list.

A Year in the Life of a Gamer....

Well, as you can see, it's been a year since my last post, and things, they be a changing. New codexes have come and new armies have ruled the tables, Space Wolves, BAs, and now Grey Knights. New ones are on the way, Necrons and maybe Tau???? I have been busy with real life, tho, and sometimes it gets in the way of gaming. A "new" old job, with new hours, has interfeared with my gaming time, as changing shifts (evenings instead of days) has pretty much zonked any play time. On a good note, it has given me plenty of time to build a new army (Nids) and start to re-build on an old one (Tau). Of course, with some new figs (Citadel Finecast) and price increases, GW has pretty much put my buying into slow mo, for now, but, knowing in advance about this, allowed me some time to buy some stuff before the price went up, so I have plenty to work with.

As I type this, I am working on my new army for the 2011 'Ard Boyz. I'm going buggy this year, so am working on my Nids army. I have all the needed figs, at least I hope I have enough termagaunts, for a pretty good list. I have even been converting, as GW doesn't have a Tervigon model yet, but they came out with an awesome giant spider, Arachnarok, that I have, with some extra Carnifex bitz, converted into one. I must say, I think I did a pretty good job.

But, I hope to, at least once a week, keep up with this blog and take you along with me.
